Mayonnaise Football League Established 1990

2002 SEASON REVIEW

For the 13th campaign, the league welcomed Lee Wilson to the ownership. Lee had worked in the food industry in the past, making him a natural addition. He proved worthy. Although his Blue Thunder franchise finished 6th overall, Lee was the last team anyone wanted to play at the end of the season. GigaBlitz took the league by storm, not losing until week 12, but, with the loss of their star QB (McNabb) to injury, a late season dive left them in 4th place with a 13-3 record. The Victors ran in the middle of the Mr. Chef pack for most of the season. They were in 4th place in the division week 13, but pulled together an incredible rally to make the playoffs. The run continued as they stormed through the playoffs, becoming only the second Mr. Chef team to capture The Mayonnaise Bowl. Craig Koss of The Victors also captured the spirit of the league and was rewarded the Ed Lindsey Award. Hive's RB Priest Holmes was injured late and missed the playoffs but held off a Michael Vick charge to win the MFL MVP award.
