Mayonnaise Football League Established 1990

1999 SEASON REVIEW

Our TENTH season. Hard to believe. The League returned to the popular 12 team format with the expansion team additions of Tom Duff's HOSERS franchise (Tom works with the Commish) and BAJ's (Ben Esker, Adam Lucas, Justin Dunphy who work at MCI with the GigaBlitz owners) TEAM XTREME franchise. Bob Mavity joined as a rookie owner, taking over the BOB team and renaming it BOB SQUAD. Team X and BS did just fine, turning in the first All-Rookie Mayonnaise Bowl. TEAM XTREME went on an impressive scoring binge late in the season, swept through the playoffs, and captured the MFL Crown. One of BOB SQUAD'S surprise early picks, Edgerrin James (RB, IND), answered all doubters by becoming the first non-QB to win the coveted MFL MVP award. In a post-season mutiny, The Victors franchise organized a vote to prevent the commissioner from presenting the Ed Lindsey Award. The owners choice was the Commish himself, Tim Knowlton.
